Enjoy an exciting tour taking in the best sites of Newmarket with this exclusive opportunity to visit the renowned Cheveley Park Stud. You will spend the morning visiting the Newmarket Gallops, followed by a visit to the National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art. Then enjoy lunch at the 2AA Rosette Squires restaurant at the Bedford Lodge Hotel followed by a visit to the renowned Cheveley Park Stud which will include a tour of the facilities, stallion parade, and will meet some mares and foals along the way.


Cheveley Park Stud is not open to the public and we have been given exclusive access for one day only. Cheveley Park Stud is renowned as one of the most successful thoroughbred horse farms in Europe. Situated in Newmarket, England the stud extends to just under 1,000 acres. Cheveley Park Stud itself is home to eight top class stallions, while the nearby Sandwich, Strawberry Hill, Ashley Heath and Warren Hill divisions accommodate the company’s other bloodstock interests. During the tour you will learn about the fascinating history of the stud dating back to 1650 as well as meet the outstanding stallions which include Dutch Art, Pivotal, Twilight Son and Lethal Force.

09.45: Meet your tour guide at the Bedford Lodge Hotel.

09.50 – 10.45: Your tour guide will take you to visit the famous Warren Hill, part of Jockey Club Estates Newmarket Gallops where you will watch the ‘third lot’ of the day being exercised. Your tour guide will point out Trainer strings and some of the equine stars. A visit to Warren Hill will be followed by a driving tour around the town taking in the history and heritage. You will find out where some of the top renowned trainers are based, pass the private training grounds of Godolphin and learn the story behind the Boys Grave.

11.00 – 12.00: Visitors will be guided around the newly opened National Heritage Centre for Horseracing & Sporting Art which is situated in Charles II’s sporting palace and stables and spans five acres in the heart of Newmarket. It comprises of three complementary attractions; a new National Horseracing Museum, a National Art Gallery of British Sporting Art, and a chance to meet former racehorses and learn what they do after racing, in the flagship home of Retraining of Racehorses.

12.15 – 14.00: A well deserved lunch break will follow at the luxurious 4 star Bedford Lodge Hotel. You will enjoy a two course restaurant lunch served from the 2AA Rosette restaurant Squires.

14.15 – 16.00 : Time to visit the renowned Cheveley Park Stud home of eight top class stallions, including Pivotal, who has sired 26 Group 1 winners and 137 Stakes winners. Other stallions currently in residence at Cheveley Park include Dutch Art, Ulysses, Lethal Force and Twilight Son. The visit will include a tour of the facilities, stallion parade, and will meet some mares and foals along the way.

Please be advised that tours depart promptly at the scheduled start time so we recommend arriving at the meeting point a minimum of 15 minutes in advance.
